You've heard the expression, "It takes a village to raise a child." Well, it takes many behind-the-scenes people, in a theater (no matter what size) to run a show and help everything go smooth during a production. There are people who help with scene changes, props, lighting, sound and costumes. There are people who help usher people to seats and take tickets. Every show has a Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager; someone to help hang and focus lights; set builders and painters, etc.
We could sure use a bevy of people to help with the backstage and behind-the-scenes work. When you help, you get your name in the program, experience in different areas in a theater and the satisfaction that you were a part of bringing a production to life!
