This musical comedy was great! The play was great, the songs were great, and the singing was great. I urge everyone to enjoy a fun night out that will make you laugh and warm your hearts. Have dinner at Risky Business and walk right over to APCOT Theater in the same strip mall. Very entertaining!!
Surprise! Musical, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change ~ sparkles!
Ya gotta be lucky sometimes: last-minute rabbit out of a hat, thanks to another member! We met tonight, Sat. 8/6, after all, at Risky Business ~ almost as planned ~ and had front-row seats for the show thanks to Renata, the very nice head of Roadrunner Theatre Co. Loved it, and are so glad we didn't miss it!!
Perfect performances (musicians & actors) / marvelous music / funny, sweet, honest songs / beautiful and well-married voices & choreography / split-second costume changes!! They didn't have to change a thing. Well, maybe except for getting the women's mics to work better and project their words a bit more audibly (or maybe it was just me). But most enjoyable anyway, as I'm sure the packed house would agree, judging by the standing ovation.
Roadrunner has a unique mission: to bring quality theater to the east side of Tucson. So far it has done that extremely well, with terrific performances of "On Golden Pond," "Leading Ladies," and "The Admirable Chricton." The remainder of its current season is filled with Broadway hits: "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" in August; "Beyond Therapy" in September, and Yasmina Reza's Tony-award winning "God of Carnage" in November.
